I think those have plastic rails; no thanks.

The article on Weaponsman mentioned something about the rails. It said something about a custom locking block that provided metal rails coming with the kit.
I'm not personally interested myself, I just put it up for the Campfire crowd.

Interesting. Let us know how it turns out. I've built 80% 1911's; it was a snap. But then I have a mill in my garage.

Even without the metal rails, this would be a pretty cool project and useful gun for emergency use and not lots of shooting.

The gun control folks are just going to have a fit over this one. Love it!

I bet they're super hard to track by the ATF.

Or lein-holders, or bankruptcy judges, or just whoever.....
