What to look out for and what's a reasonable price? Hoping to find an older 22 LR blued model in good shooting condition. I'd buy the convertible mag cylinder model if the price was right but wouldn't pay more for it if I had a choice between the two.
New model or 3 screw unconverted? 4 5/8", 6" 9"? Original black hard rubber grips or wood grips? XR3 or XR3 RED frame?

Go to Gunblast and the RugerForum.com and you will have a better idea what's out there as far as old rugers are concerned. You will pay a premium for some models especially when it comes to 3 screw guns. I love them and gave each of my kids an old model when they turned 13.

Recently picked up a very nice, blued, new model single six convertible with both cylinders for $400. plus tax. Serial number puts it at circa 1980. Took it home May 19th; took it out next day. It's a heckuva good shooter no matter which cylinder I'm using. Don't know how much of a premium I paid for the convertible model vs. 22LR only but the convertible was what I was looking for and so far I'm really liking this piece.
Found what looks to be a pretty good 3 screw model. Made in 62 but has had the transfer bar installed. Does this effect the action and/or trigger pull?
