any suggestions to replace the factory grips on this buckeye special 10mm/38.40? that is ruger new model blackhawk.
that grip is kinda small in my hand, and i don't also want to beat up the factory as they look brand new.

I put a set of Pachmayr Presentation grips on my stainless New Model Blackhawk. Looked at a couple other options but went with these because I felt they really set the gun off nicely without looking too "flashy". Sort of an understated, elegant, classy look. But that's just how my eyes perceive them; YMMV. Plus; they feel good to my hand which is how grips should be. I was lucky because I got to check these out in person at the local shop before I bought 'em as opposed to having to order them off the internet in order to see 'em personally.
I Love those 10mm / 38-40 Buckeye Models! Saw one sell on GunBroker a while back for $1250!!! A nice Set of Ajax Stag grips would look good on there.

Personally, I hate the Pachmeyer or Hogue rubber grips on a BlackHawk, as it doesn't let the pistol roll with the recoil in your hand, as a single action revolver should.

Hogue's standard wood grips tend to run a bit thicker than factory.

i have kind of an attachment to 38wcf as that was the first handgun i ever fired, my dad's colt saa bisley. I was just reading an article where a guy is hodrodding a 38.40 and getting with a 180grain bullet 1500fps. That is out of a ruger blackhawk.
I don't have any interest in that, but i have fired 10mm out of it in a chrony and was getting 1300+fps with a 180grain.
I do think they did a special job on the bluing etc as they are pretty slick. the cylinders are serial numbered to the last three digits of the gun. I didn't spend much for this one, but it was missing one of the cylinders. Ruger was kind enough to make a new cylinder and serial to the gun, so i have both.
thanks to a campfire member who sent my some slugs, and starline brass tomorrow i will be making some more 38wcf. Last fall i shot two of the colt saa bisley's, probably the first time in both cases shot in 50years. out to 25yards they were minute of popcan and pleasant to shoot. Both are blood guns, being envolved in shootings a long time ago. my motivation for buying this ruger at the time was wanting to shoot wcf, but not regularly in the old colt beasleys.

i am going to look those up. the factory are a little thin for me. I had a set of ahrends on it, but didn't like that either.
