the 317 Airweight with about 2 inch barrel seem OK to good but the triggers suck. Can you do a trigger job with reduced power springs and still have them ignite a 22 LR?

(The heavy bullet 40 SW project for hiking was stopped cold when I rediscovered my Stainless J frame 357 bodyguard and a box of remington 158 grain JHP's.)

I have the 3" and don't find the trigger pull all that bad. I did however pull the sideplate, lubed everything and put in a 13# trigger return spring. Could probably get away with a 12#.

A friend has a 2" and one of his gunsmith friends did a good trigger job on it.

Both guns are reliable in DA fire...

Springs are cheap. Do the 13lb rebound spring as Bob suggests, ten order up a couple different hammer springs and see what you get. It's an easy enough job.

Based on a few reviews I have read the 317 dos not shoot to point of aim with multiple ammunition types, scratch that idea.

Ruger LCR, I wouldn't ever consider a 317

Not for me, small handed female who is adverse to recoil and cannot rack a slide even on a 380. The LCR was my first choice, grips are too big.

Grips are too big? She's obviously not Asian.

Super light gun will be especially sensitive to projectile weight and speed. My 3" is most accurate with Velocitors or similar fast, light bullet loads. D/A trigger is okay, S/A ? Hey, it's a Smith.
