I've been doing some trigger mods to my new 43, changing striker springs. I was wondering if there was a 9mm round that would have what would be considered a hard primer so I could test it against that. I've had no light strikes on any ammo I have tried yet.
Wolf steel case seems harder to me.
See if you can find some old Egyptian submachinegun ammo. I used to pick it up now and then, in 36 round boxes. Cheap, corrosive crap-ammo, but my old Polish P-35 would shoot the heck out of the stuff. It was pretty hot, but shot well.

I had some other nines at the time, and some of them wouldn't fire the stuff. It was Boxer primed, though, and the cases held up pretty good. I'd use them when I was shooting in high grass or the woods, so I didn't lose "the good stuff" in the brush.

Danged hard primers, so the SMGs wouldn't have fits with it.
Are you reloading? If so, you can use small rifle primers. They're tougher but also hotter. You'd have to back way off and work up your loads. You might end up .5 to 1.0 gr lighter for the same velocity.
Brown Bear steel case wouldn't fire about 10% of the time when I tried a lighter trigger spring in my Glock 19. No problem with it when I went back to the factory spring.

i remember that stuff when it first came into the country, priced at about 70bucks per thousand. Hate to quote what the wholesale price was. kind of fun in a way, pull the trigger and wait four or five seconds to see if it would go off.
