During the '60 & '70's, the Lee Jurras developed Super Vel ammo was the 1st really high performance HP ammo.

A new company has picked up the name with the Jurras family approval & is now making the ammo out of Henderson, NV with an updated design.

Has anyone tried it or tested it yet or know anything about it?

New Super Vel Ammo

MM
I knew a guy who worked at the original Indiana Super Vel plant, that was some time ago, of course.

I didn't know that the name had been resurrected, I wonder how it will compare to the other outfits like CorBon, Buffalo Bore, and others?
The super vel stuff made its name in the day when velocity was critical to bullet expansion.

Can't say I'm sorry we're past that.

Bullet weights are too light for me to consider
Sent them some questions on bullet construction and request for controlled terminal ballistic data. A promising idea if they have bullets that meet FBI protocol testing at the published velocities. Would really like to see them bring back the 38 Super load and maybe a run of 9x23 JHP, if the bullets perform.

Cameron Hopkins is a pretty knowledgeable handgunner and it seems he has the resources to turn out high quality ammo, if he has the right component suppliers. Think I'll stay tuned.
