Bought one last year...great snubbie.... Like it much better than a S&W J-Frame.

The gun is very accurate for a snubbie. Was shooting Saturday with some Federal 85 grain Hydra-Shok and some Federal .32 H&R Magnum 85 grain hollow points. At 12 yards both hit to the same POI. The 12 shots went into a group a little smaller than the palm of my hand. POI was 1" high and 1" left of POA...

Recoil even with the Hydra-Shok loads were very controllable.

I've also shot it with my full bore .327 load that I use in a Freedom Arms 97...120 grain cast with 8.5 gr. of AA-7 for 1400 fps from a 6.5" barrel. It handled the load fine but don't plan on doing any more. The 85s at high velocity should work fine for PD...

RJM: what do you like about the LCR more than a J-frame? I'm thinking of picking up an LCR in 9mm for pocket carry.

RAS: I had a 327 Fed in a Ruger Single Seven, 7.5", and it was a hoot to shoot with light bullets driven fast--big muzzle blast and very sharp report. In a carry gun, I'd want to look into heavier bullet loads to reduce blast and flash.

Group is 2" left and 1.5" high of POA...

1) The trigger pull is wonderful for a small gun... You would have to pay a smith a lot of money to tune a S&W like these are out of the box...

2) Almost as light as a "3" series Smith but MUCH more controllable and less felt recoil. Grips and grip angle are excellent.

...and I just happen to have a 9mm also...another great shooter...

Fantastic, thanks for the info. How is the ejection on the 9mm? Is the ejector rod long enough to clear the cases and moon-clip without you having to flip the muzzle upwards?

I have the Single Seven 4 5/8, and the SP101 4.2 inch, so they are a bit different animal.

I shoot both with 115 HP jacketed with a max load of 110. Noisy, but quite controlable in these revolvers.

The 85 XTP makes a nice midrange load with a moderate charge of SR4756 or HS-6.

I often use 32 H&R mag data, and seat the bullet deep into a 327 case to make H&R COAL.

My Grand sons, since they were 8 YO, have been shooting both revolvers with 78 gr Lasercast over a very light load of Universal or Titegroup. At around 700 fps, they recoil about like a 22 mag, and the report is very mild.

And, of course, any revolver chambered for 327 will also shoot 32 S&W, 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R, and I have been told by knowledgeble sources, 32 ACP.

Any gun chambered for 327 is extremely versatile. Lots of ammo, or reloading possibilites from very mild to the equivalent of 38+P.

No problem with ejection at all....

It is a good idea to always point the muzzle up when emptying a DA revolver. It lessens the amount of unburned powder that gets under the star and then binds up the rotation...

Dave...I had a box of .32 ACP with me to try in the LCR and a Ruger Single-Six I just bought and FORGOT to try any...

I did put some rounds in while at home and one thing I did notice is that there is a LOT of headspace....like putting .38 Supers in a .38/.357 revolver...

Does the headspace issue concern you enough that you would avoid shooting the 32 acp in the 327?

I have one coming in hopefully this week. I reloaded some 115 cast for it and some 100 gr xtp. The ballistics really impress me on this round and I like the one extra in the gun.

...no, I just think they are going to be real accurate...

Once the snow clears off I want to chrono the LCR to see how much velocity loss there is...

What are you going to use for powders?
