Can a 10/22 barrel be used on a 77/22?
THAT`S A GOOD QUESTION ?? my 77/22 Hornet is a screwed on barrel
The 77/22 barrel has a longer tenon. A 10/22 barrel can't be made to work.

It’s even more involved but can be done. The shoulder on the 77/22 is about 1/8” longer but the same diameter. In addition to that there is a second extractor cut in the 77/22 and only one in the 10/22. So if a guy wanted to use a 10/22 barrel in his 77/22 and stil want to use it in the 10/22 he would have to have the shoulder set back the actual appropriate amount, have a second extractor slot cut and then have a shim/spacer machined so it would work in either the 77/22 or the 10/22. In closing it would be cheaper to use a 77/22 barrel and just have a spacer machined to use the same barrel in a 10/22
The reason I am asking is I have a 77/22 magnum and I have a 77/17 HMR barrel and would like a 77/22 heavy barrel to complete the trifecta, but I cannot find a .920 barrel in 22 long rifle for the 77/22
Last I knew Clark Custom will still sell you a .920” 77/22 V-block barrel. I think they use Lothar Walther blanks. Give them a call.

I have a SS factory varment/target barrel in 22LR if that would be of interest. It had the target grey finish buffed off and is a bright SS now
