I took my 8 yr. old grand daughter to target range for the first time. She used 1 of my Ruger 10/22's. The LOP is way to long for her. I know there is a company or 2 that make a stock with a 12" LOP, but I can't find anyone that makes 1 less than 12". Can anyone HELP..??
It may be hard to find one shorter than 12 inches. If it was me, I would buy a $10 take off stock, like this one:
10/22 stock and shorten it yourself. I would just round the edges and not even worry about a buttplate.
Yes, Brownells sells a = RUGER 10/22 YOUTH STOCK =
Mfr: Wood Plus
Walnut, oil finish, inlayed to drop in & fit factory barrel,
black plastic butt-pad.
"Scaled down in both size and weight with a shorter forearm and length of pull ..."
price, $86.94
P.S. - I did not see the above post while my response was in limbo - but just cutting down a Take-off stock is a great idea.
Your right. That one has a LOP of 11 1/4. I hadn't seen one shorter than 12in before.

Ha, that doesn't happen very often ...
If you can ge over the Tactical look, TAPCO makes a stock for the 10/22 that uses a collapsible AR-style stock. The nice thing about it is that it will be able to grow with the shooter....
My 11-year old son loves his 10/22 with the Tapco stock. Particularly with the 25-round Butler Creek mags hanging out the bottom....
He's had it on there for the last couple years and it has grown with me as needed.
Thanx for all the data...I'll look it up.......
