Sheesh!! Seems like a few (ahem, you know who you are, hehe) people whine about a Rimfire site, & then nobody uses it. [Linked Image] badger.

Who me? he he.
I just E-mailed Rick Bin and asked him to move the thread about 22mags from the Varmint
Board to this rimfire site. I blabbered on about my Ruger in that thread.
I hope this board does well. I love shooting
my new 22mag and everybody has a 22rimfire.
Take care...Littlebit

What is a mag? Tiffany's is a Marlin. But I thought it was the brand name of the rifle. Sorry for all the questions but I have to learn some how right? A "mag" when referencing 22's is the same caliber "22" but in a longer shell. Imagine a 22 long rifle on steroids, it is half again as tall and still the same rimfire mechanism for firing and the same shape as a 22 long rifle. It has more "ummph" and will not fit in your standard 22 long rifle firing guns. The two rounds are NOT interchangable. The 22 Mag has a little more effective range than the 22 lr. The 22 mag is good out to maybe 150 yards and that is pushing it, while in my opinion the 22 lr effective (read shooting squirrels) is about 75 yards. Neither has any recoil to speak of, the 22 mag is a lot more expensive and not quite as many varieties exist like that of the 22 long rifle (lr). There are many other differences but those are some of the basics.

Blammer -
Great explanation! I actually understand what you said. I knew I liked this board for some reason! Thanks for taking the time to explain in such detail, I know it can get kind of boring repeating the basics but your time/effort is greatly appreciated.
