So I ordered a new cz 455 combo in 22/17hmr. Excited to replace the remington 597 for sure even though it was surprisingly a shooter. Guess now I need to sell it. So what other than a yo Dave trigger kit should I get or do. I had a 453 17hmr some time back and know these guns are shooters from factory. Ordered rings for it from brownells today. Also want to buy some extra mags. Do they make metal mags for this gun? Now I only have to wait and hope it has a nice stock pretty excited to say the least. Any suggestions

Kevin,

The 455's generally are good shooters from the factory. The Yo Dave trigger kit works well. The inletting of the 455 stock is a somewhat loose fit to the action. I think the 455's definitely benefit from pillar & glass bedding. After pillar bedding mine, I could lay the action in the stock and still had about 1/16" of play forwards and backwards as well as side to side. So glass bedding was also needed. My CZ had a weak firing pin strike so I upgraded to a JP Chrome Silicon Increased Power Striker Spring which solved that issue. I haven't seen any metal mags for the 455 but the DIP aluminum mag well with extended mag release is a nice upgrade a well. There are many nice aftermarket upgrades for the CZ 455 (https://www.diproductsinc.com is one good source).

Lilja also makes match grade drop-in barrels for the 455 but I've been happy with the improved accuracy of my 455 with factory barrels after pillar/glass bedding and changing the firing pin spring.

Thanks for the link. Do the 452 mags work with the 455

Hear you go, but I warn you, it's an addiction. Read the stickies and search to your heart's content.

So does anyone know from experience if the 452 mags work in the 455? I will need both 17 hmr and 22 and would prefer metal mags to polymer ones. I have enough 22 lR ammo for my amount of shooting, but will need 17 hmr. You guys have any advice on which to start with

22 LR Magazines will work work in both the 452 and 455 .

17 HMR/22Mag Magazines are different for each Model .

The poly mag I have for my FS 455 22 mag , functions just as well as the metal mag I have for my FS 452 17HMR.

All I did to my 455 .17 was bed it. I am happy with the factory trigger.
Thing shoot well inside 1/2 moa, and kills ground squirrels like the plague.
Topped it with a 4.5X14 Burris in factory rings.

Well I ordered the yo Dave trigger kit, dip mag well, and mag release extension. Would like to get it bedded also. I should be able to go shoot one day this week. I topped it off with a Nikon 3x9x40 efr. I'm pretty excited about the gun honestly. The wood on my gun is nothing exceptional. But it's not bad either. I have eley subsonic, Norma subsonic, and cci mini mag to try through it so far. Also look forward to the 17 hmr barrel. Seems some people say they need a couple hundred rounds through them before they shoot their best. Should I just shoot bulk ammo at first to break in the barrel or are they good to go when u get one. Don't want to waste good ammo on a break in with the ammo shortage.

My 452 has been a 50 yard one hole gun with most ammo since new ,they shoot far better then they should based on their price
