Friend of mine is trying to help an older lady move some old firearms. I won't lay eyes on them for a week or so, but know one is a Challenger.

I'm fairly knowledgeable but had never heard of these; Dad was a Woodsman guy.

They look like a Woodsman, but perhaps a low end one.

Assuming it's a shooter grade, what would be a fair price?

Would enjoy an old .22 like that with some faux ivory or holly stocks in a carved El Paso Tanker rig around the Ranch...
The Challenger is a second series pistol. The economy version of the 'S' model. No push button mag release, or last shot hold-open or thumbrest grip. Non-tapered barrel with fixed sights. Around here a shooter will bring $400. Better condition, box and goodies will bring much more. The Challenger is a pre-Huntsman......grin
Thanks. One of the pics that came up on net looked like Dad's 6-in. Match Target, other kinda looked like that skinny barreled white-gripped one of yours.
Here's a Huntsman 6 inch. Challenger looks identical, but for the color of grips.

Man, those are nice pistols! Think I may glom onto that Challenger and start looking for a Woodsman.

My brother got Dad's MT.

Saw the ol' man roll a running cottontail w. a headshot with the Woodsman Thanksgiving '72; after I'd missed it w the Model 12 Winchester!
I've got a Colt Huntsman 6" in excellent shape I was thinking of selling.

Coldcase1984 send me a pm if interested

That is if the other one falls through
Buy it while you have the chance. My late uncle had one and it was amazing to see what the best shot in the family, Uncle JR, could do with it.
