At lunch today had enough time for a quick run into the store, was looking for a couple of extra Christmas gifts. Thought I'd first check the gun rack for one of those super M700 deals I read about here. No go, however sitting on the counter were two bricks of CCI Standard Velociy LR. Clerk told me limit one per day and asked if I was interested in mini-mags in packs of 100 same limit. The brick (500) of standard velocity LR's went home with me for $39.99.
That will be a good gift.

If I was Santa Claus I would...

I was in a Dick's store over the weekend and they had some 100 round plastic boxes of some kind of Winchester .22 LR ammo for $9.99, limit 3. I passed.

The Dicks near me doesn't keep much 22LR, but the Cableas was loaded with a couple different brands in 50 round boxes, CCI in the 100 packs, and Federal and Remington bulk packs. There's really no need to pay scalpers prices anymore.

Screw Dicks. After the chit they pulled with the AR style rifles following Sandy Hook, I won't set foot in a Dicks or their spin-off Field and Stream.
