I paid $39.95 a brick from some mail order place a couple of months ago. I got three bricks.

I procure a few boxes of this from Academy sports from time to time. shoots good in everything.

I think this is subsonic, they have a red boxed one that is hi-velocity & is copper washed.

I'm thinking a good CZ should shoot just about any kind of ammo pretty well. Why not just use some of the bulk type ammo made by federal and be good to go? It can be found here locally from time to time for about $20.00/brick. JMHO...

Nothing is available in that price range around here anymore, or from mail order houses either. That's four cents a shot. Maybe they will come back around to that pricing some day. You are lucky to find that in a store.

Before the rimfire insanity started, this type of Aguila ammo was about $24 a brick. Federal Lightning was in the high teens. The last Federal 525 count bulk packs of plated .38 grain HP plinking stuff I purchased were $39.95 (May or this year). I purchased a 325 count bulk pack of Remington Golden Bullet at WalMart last month for $24. It did not misfire but it's accuracy was marginal at best. A relayed the availability to a friend and he went out there later in the day, but it was all gone. I had fired 100 rounds, so I did the math and sold him the other 225 rounds at my cost. He wanted this to shoot in his Colt Ace. He needs plated high velocity ammo to function in the floating chambered old Colt.

Ouch!! I hope this 22lr conundrum turns around here pretty soon. I've been seeing more, but kind of sporadic. I lucked into a couple bricks of the federal automatch a few months ago. I also hear you about the Remington rimfire stuff. I have not had very good luck with the stuff Remington has been putting on the shelves for the last 10 years. A long time ago, the only thing I would shoot in my 10-22's was the Remington yellow jackets. That used to be pretty good ammo for small game and yotes out to about 150 yards. Looks like you have a very good shooting CZ. My friend has the 453 that shoots lights out with just about any ammo he puts into it. His only gripe was the set trigger did not work very well with his fat fingers and the scope was a pain to mount. Something about finding the right rings???

Yes, the CZ tip off grooves are a challenge. They can either have 11mm or 3/8ths inch grooves and to make things a bit harder, their 3/8ths inch groove models are somewhat different from American standard 3/8ths inch groove models.
