Picked up this little Model 61 yesterday, neat old rifle and really fun to shoot. Had it out to the range this morning and the Weaver 29S, although a bit foggy, was perfectly usable.

I think I got a pretty good deal on it for $510 out the door. The butt plate is missing, and was replaced with a clear plastic spacer and a 1" Pachmayr recoil pad. I removed the pad and spacer and the LOP is 13 1/4". I put the spacer back on for my trip to the range, I'll likely replace it with a Galazan 1/2" red recoil pad. The gun is also drilled and tapped for the Weaver side mount, and has had a set of sling swivels installed, including drilling and tapping the magazine tube hanger. The modifications don't negatively impact the shooting experience, and made the gun affordable to me so I can live with them.

The Weaver 29S: (which I could be talked out of if anyone is looking for one)

How did she shoot
Very well. Didn't put it on paper (and likely won't, I have Anschutz's for that; this gun is for fun) but it did put the hurt on the 25 and 50 yard silhouettes at my range.
That thing is cool beyond measure. Lucky you.
Very high fun factor with that, congrats.
Great little .22!!
There is a company that makes a lot of different replacement grips and butt plates for the older guns. I don't know the name of the company but I'm sure that someone on this site has that info and you might be able to purchase a properly marked plate for your rifle that would dress it up nicely.
