Has anyone heard or seen any new offerings in 17 WSM for 2016? Was there any update from H-S precision on their 17 WSM

Be nice to see CZ build one.

It would be nice if anyone would build one that was as accurate as a Ruger and as expensive as a Savage.

Yes have been tempted by the Ruger but would also like to see CZ make on. At least a little competition might lower the price of the Ruger!!

The Savage B-Mag has had so many problems, I have to wonder why anyone would invest in one. Without a rifle, or rifles, that is accurate and priced under $400 retail, I don't see a rosy future for the 17 WSM.

Of course, I predicted that the WSSMs would be popular and the Mossberg bolt guns would fail, so what do I know?

Now you're right!

You're welcome.

If Ruger were to make the American in 17WSM, it might save the day. Don't think it would hurt 77/17 sales much as 77/folks don't mind paying for the more solid platform; at least this one doesn't. The CZ would be good too as well as the T-bolt.

A reincarnation of the Remington 580 series and/or the Winchester 310/320 suitably modified to handle the 17 WSM would be OK too.

My understanding from following threads on other forums is that the 17 wsm does not fit in any rimfire offered buy CZ. The 17WSM also cannot fit the Ruger American Rimfire.

That means, brand new guns would be needed similar perhaps but new guns that are larger than the Ruger American or CZ 455. The WSM is longer , fatter and higher pressure. The Ruger 77 family includes Hornet, 44mag, etc so not much of a stretch to modify a version for the WSM.

I dont know about the T bolt but any well designed gun that takes the 22lr and 22mag is not likely to be so much "over engineered" that the WSM will fit. Basically you need to look at guns that already take the 22mag and 22 hornet. The Anschutz 54 action comes to mind. That sure not going to satisfy the forum's need for a good quality and moderately price gun.

Some single shots would work fine, but; your average gun nut is not really into single shots and many of those are more expensive than outlined here. H&R is dead. Contender's and Winchester 85 are costly. Are they still making contenders? There is a CVS single.

Something else. The Ruger 77 in 17WSM is a heavy model. Not much of a hunting and walking rim fire. The spec 7.5 pounds plus scope, rings, ammo your probably looking at 8.5 pounds. That is an elephant rifle!

My 2c, what the WSM needs is a 22 version. In the few hunting locations when centerfire is not allowed, what is generally needed is more power not distance. A family of WSM might motivate another builder to design a special WSM bolt rifle.
