I have several 22 rifles to choose from but none of them are dedicated range guns, they are are pencil barrels.... Czs, savages, and Marlins
I'm wanting a new rifle just for range work, rifle will not be hunted with, only used to punch paper and what not. Looking to spend 550-600$ What's out there in that price range? Would like a Cooper but a little outta my range for now.
I could live with another CZ but before I pull the trigger. What else is out there I should be looking at? Kimber? Annie's? Used?
Kimber 82g is about the only significant target rifle I can think of in that price range.
Mossberg 144LSB?
Marlin 2000?
Remington 540x?

My Winchester Mod 75. Comes with three original ten rd mags.
I'm not looking for an actual target rifle. Just a heavy barrel varmint style that's gonna be accurate and nice to look at
You said you could live with another CZ. If so; the CZ 455 Varmint model 22LR fits your price range (MSRP $469). Or the CZ 455 Varmint Thumbhole Fluted with a varmint profile fluted barrel in 22LR at $549 MSRP. They look sharp, are very accurate, and fit your budget. Only problem is I don't know how long it takes to get one. I've had the Varmint Thumbhole Fluted on order since the beginning of July and still don't know when I might see it. Dealer I ordered it from is an old friend I've known over 20 years; and he can't even tell me when that thing should arrive. You can see 'em on CZ's web site to decide if they're nice to look at.

Got it.
I was in the same boat 30 years ago. Found a Winchester 75 target.
They are lighter than other target guns and make a fine sporter with a good hunting scope ......
you might find a H&R M12 in that price range if you shop around.
