Wife and kids are about tired of my rubicon being muddy all the time and it may be time for me to get a "real" car/suv, which means i will need a quad to keep at the farm.

350 acres, roads in pretty good shape but can get real muddy. I walk in during deer/turkey season, so noise and smell is less of an issue. But lots of off season light duty work on the place - checking cameras, moving stands, shooting on a range i had built on the back side, busting beaver dams, fishing the pond in the middle of the property, etc

Anyone have experience with the ranger 570 efi? I think i want efi over the 400 carb. And definitely like the price and size of the mid size vs the full size offerings

Will store it on site, so electric is not an option. Anyone leave theirs parked outside with a canvas cover?

Use is a few hours once a week or so. South Carolina weather

Hunting pard has one. About 9 months old. One front strut, front pinion seal housing (damn thing is made of plastic!) and some electrical gremlins so far. My 2009 Honda Big Red, no repairs at all, just fluid changes and a set of rear brake pads. The Polaris is narrower and can go through gaps the Honda won't, but that's about the only thing it does better.

For that use do yourself a favor, check out the Kawasaki Mule 610.

I got one for my Tx. lease.

Not a hot rod by any means. Just a good tough 4x4 side by side with a dump body.

About $2k less than the 570.

I bought a 2014 Ranger 400 in Oct!!!! put 40hrs on it during hunting season. They were hard hours!!!! It performed perfect, no problems. I love the thing, while its a carb engine it starts easy and idles nice in 20 degree weather.

Looked at the mule 610xc yesterday. Hard to argue with that machine for my needs. Tell me more about how you use it on your Tx lease and what you like and dont like

I have the 500 efi and I abuse it pretty good and I haven't had a problem yet.

Whichever one you get, make sure it's one with EFI. Carbed machines can be a pia if you don't ride them a lot.

I still love the baby Mule.

I haul bags of corn, firewood, water from the creek etc.

The Mule has pulled ~1,000lb. loads on my trailers etc.

I added several L.E.D. lights for the low wattage requirements.

The under hood storage box is very handy for keeping things clean and dry.

The 610 is just a big, 4x4 yard tractor type machine. Not fast, not the best ride, but very capable.

He used it hard, and cleared a lot of limbs and briars out of my way.

Bought a 610xc last week. Used it all weekend. So far it's perfect for what I need.

All I am adding is a rumble seat in the bed, a gun rack and a 2" hitch receiver. May buy a boomless sprayer
