Guys, it's been awhile. Since you last heard from me I got in two bad wrecks on an elk hunt, got hypothermia, endured a hard Montana winter, made it through calving, and have released my sixth novel, "Looking for Lynne," part of the Ezra Riley series, and its available now on Amazon. Miss the banter here but finishing the novel with a bad shoulder -- multiple displacements, torn labrum, etc... -- was all I could handle. Greetings to all. John
I should have added that it will be available on Kindle in about a week.
Welcome back John. Those wrecks can bust you up pretty good. I had one myself in ML season last year.
Glad to hear that you at least, *wintered*. Guess it is better to be on the grass side of the dirt. Hang in there.
idnative, believe me, I felt like winterkill through most of it. :-(
Nice to see you back, John.
A year ago I had to travel and started stacking paperback books for the trip. My wife asked if I wanted to take her Kindle with me. I thought that a great idea and asked her if she could get a book some guy on the fire wrote? (The Breaking)
It got loaded and I really enjoyed it! I'll have to look for the others.
take care!
It's a rather timely read, too, Ironbender. It deals with some of the issues that have been in the news lately. I was contacted by a Vatican-owned news service (I'm not Catholic) to write an op-ed on the BLM/Bundy mess. Then they asked for a follow-up. Both got quite a bit of notice. The Oswald line of horses is also a topic in "Looking for Lynne," they are a unique line of Quarter Horses that carry the most Peter McCue blood of any QHs in the country.
Glad to hear you are getting better. Looking forward to the kindle version of your new book.
Thanks, Dan. It looks like everyone here made it through the winter.
Good to see your back posting here. Sorry to here about the wrecks and hope your novel does well.
Thanks, Pat. I have quite the story to tell someday about my series of wrecks, but I'm waiting for the statute of limitations to expire. :-) (Have you ever gone on a hunt where it seems God was trying to tell you from the beginning to stay home but you rushed forward in fevered excitement?) :-(

That is basically the story of my life .
Where can I find a copy of the blm/Bundy article please?
lookingforlynne.com/blog/ Hopefully that will get you there, Maarty.
It did, thank you.
It's good to get a clear opinion from someone who is connected but still has some distance from the actual situation.
For you Kindle folks, LOOKING FOR LYNNE is now available. :-)
John-
If you would please, list the Ezra Riley series titles in a chronological reading order?
I read and enjoyed 'Ezra' and would like to follow that.
Ironbender, here they are:
1 -The Breaking of Ezra Riley (available on Kindle)
2 -Leaving the Land
3 -The Limits of Mercy
4 - Looking for Lynne (available on Kindle)
The original trilogy (books 1-3) are also in one volume but that book has been bringing as much as $146 on Amazon. I have copies available for $21 ppd.
Singles (sometimes new, sometimes used) of books 2 and 3 (and sometimes, book 1) can be found on Amazon.
Thanks. I have Ezra on my Kindle and was hoping the others would be too. Are they such that they should be read in order or will something be missed reading out of order?
--Mike
Helpful if read in order but not necessary. Each is a stand-alone.
Wow! This sounds like something I may be interested in seeing as how 43 days until retirement. Have jotted done the read order.
Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, 2 & 3 are not available on Kindle?
Mike, you are understanding me correctly. At this time, books 2 and 3 are not available on Kindle. You can find them on Amazon or order them from me. john
Finished reading "looking for Lynne" good read.
Is there a fifth book in the works?
Dan, thanks for the support. Not a fifth one in the works at the moment, but writing a novel can take me years. Sometimes the incubation period is the longest part of that.
