Does anyone have any experience with this model? Pretty pricey but I was impressed with the details of it. Twin cylinder engine runs smooth and quiet. I have no experience with Polaris so all input is appreciated.

FWIW, a friend bought one last year and has dogged the schitt out of it and has had no problems to date. His last was a 700 and before that a 500 and had various problems with both of those, i.e., motor replacements, electronics, etc. He's very happy with the 900 thus far.

Thanks OT. I am still a bit skiddish based on owner reports of the other models.

There was a time for sure when Polaris was dogged with "issues". I have 2 friends that have purchased Polaris products in last 3 years. Neither have had any problems and one guy uses his pretty hard.

I bought a Victory motorcycle, (Polaris), in 2009 and have not had a single burp out of it. I have to admit when I went with a friend to pick up some accessories at the Polaris dealer I looked over those 900's and liked what I saw.

the guy at the dealership told me top end speed was 60+ mph, which I don't need but he said that at lower speeds the engine would be working less hard and it would be much smoother and quieter. That makes sense to me.

OSU, forgot to mention that in the newish 900 he's made some maintenance type changes running all synthetics lubes for engine and drivetrain and has access to and uses only non-ethanol gas.

As part of the limited testimony, I should also mention that he's running 30" Silverback, deep lug tires on it, too. That machine will get it. Other than a few "whiskey dents" to date, it's still ship shape.

Good luck with your search.

I have a 2013 800 crew and have no trouble at all with it I use it at the deer lease and around the house.. It's a lot better on the deer lease roads than a pickup it takes those rough ranch roads a lot easier..

I run a yamaha rhino but several of my friends have had or have the ranger. Two buddies have new XP 900 models. I've never heard them complain about anything with them.

Thanks for the good info. I had planned on buying the Arctic Cat but this new 900 series has captured my attention.

The only thing not to like is how much Polaris gets for the accessories.
Posted By: OSU_Sig Re: Polaris 900 series UTV - 08/18/14
Good point but I'm not sure if accessories are much less expensive for the Arctic Cat.

Was in the local John Deere/Polaris dealership this a.m. getting tractor parts and talked with a salesman I know there and he said that this month they are giving a 1500$ discount/accessories credit for the Polaris 900's. Might want to check that out, OSU. He sold 2 Saturday.

thanks for that!

My buddy sold his Can-Am 1000 and bought a 900 on Saturday.
Full cab, heater, power steering, LE ..........$18,500.

that'll be a nice rig.

I've thought about a side by side for a good while now. Just can't wrap my head around how much they cost. I can get a beater jeep for $5k easy.

I hear what you're saying and have had similar thoughts. I don't believe once can be economically justified but I won't attempt to justify it economically.
