I recentley priced a Thompson Center Encore ''Pro Hunter'' today... Pro Hunter stock with recoil reduction system, 28'' stainless/fluted barrel, swing hammer, and in a .270 caliber....... $677.25??????? Will I overpay at this price? sounds like a pretty decent price to me. I have seen much worse!
It's about as low as you'll find on that rig now... still overpriced, IMHO, but if you want one... that's about as good as you will do.
Best I have seen in eastern NC was $759.00 for the 50 Caliber blackpowder version in stainless/synthetic. Several other places have the BP version for $829.00. The centerfire model is a little cheaper. Your price does sound good right now. Just wait a year or year and a half, the price will drop as the backorder file gets caught up.
i am still having trouble wrapping what brain cells i have left around this rifle and the price it is comanding...

last year you couldn't sell encores to save your life. now with a rubber stock they go up $200...... woofer
Picked up this rifle (in wood stock) on the classifieds here unfired barreled action used stock, and the scope in like new condition on e-bay, combined price $785. Have a real hard time seeing the same money yielding an encore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
