They will wreck a deer or hog out to 300 yards if you put it in the right place. Most all I hunt with now...
I believe Winchester quit making their 64 grain PowerPoint, but they work just fine on Whitetail deer and hogs. I have been using them for many years, and have 500 set aside
Is that the one that more or less became SOST?
If so I can see why!
Pass the 88's and hold The Fluff. Hint................
I've shot a number of deer with the 55 grain TBBC...I have zero doubts that the 62 grainer would work...
Caught these three, Bear clawed them.
I doubt it, but does anyone have a source foe 62gr TBBC?
Thanks.
Frank
I have bunches of them, had them many years, got them from the man that made them Jack Carter.
A couple years ago I bought a bunch of Federal MK318 Mod 0 bullets that when sectioned look like a Trophy Bonded.
It was their Barrier Blind bullet for the Marines. Lead inside the front 1/3rd and solid copper for the rear 2/3rd.
They're all I use for deer these days in the 223 and 22-250

Do the have a T on the end of the bullet??
65 Gameking has worked for me. I tend to mangle lungs.
The Hornady 55 grain soft point that comes in the 50 round boxes has worked just fine for my daughter. Just punch them through the lungs and don't try to break a shoulder down. I have no doubt that the bullet in question would work even better.
I started my first 4 grandkids off using a 223 with factory 64gr power points on local whitetails. They’ve killed at least 10, all with 1 shot per deer. I’ve got 5 or 6 boxes left, which should be plenty for my remaining 10 grandkids. If it ain’t broke……
65 gr Sierra BTSP
55 Barnes TTSX
Both have been great for deer and pigs out to 225 yards plus or minus.

Nope, no markings, two grooves one for crimp and one to reduce the bearing surface.
The lead isn't bonded but they have a nice pop when hitting bambies and penetrate through well.
I love these 223 for deer threads! Most common sence threads on the campfire IMO. IME deer have died just as fast when I shoot them with a 223 as with any other cartridge up to a 45/70. I've used exclusively the 55ttsx and when it worked I decided to stay with it

I have a bunch of the 62 grain TTSX, great on pigs too.
I am glad our Missouri whitetails don't require a railroad spike tough bullet to kill.
A 55 -65 grain soft point works pretty well.
I doubt it, but does anyone have a source foe 62gr TBBC?
Thanks.

Federal Fusion 62 grain works just fine
I've been using the 50 grain Nosler BT at 3200 FPS out of my CZ 527 to head shoot hogs for a couple of years now. I killed a feral barbado sheep several years ago with the same bullet at 103 yards. I hit him right on the point of the shoulder since he was angled towards me. He went straight down and never moved. I let my wife use the rifle this past weekend and she shot one big boar through the lungs with that same load. I was afraid we were going to have a long search or never find it. That pig only went about 15 yards before going down. I'd use that 50 grainer on deer.
I've used the Winchester Ranger PP for at least 10 years in my AR and have killed a truck load of axis deer with it. Since it's no longer in production I did some searching and testing and found the Speer Gold Dot 75 grain factory ammunition shoots really well in my rifle. I've killed two javelinas with it and look forward to using it on a deer at some point.
I’ve used the 62 TBBC on several deer, never caught one.
I doubt it, but does anyone have a source foe 62gr TBBC?
Thanks.

I got mine from Rocky Mountain Reloading, but I haven’t seen them on their website for a few years.
These cost $0.18 a pop and I haven’t had a deer stop one yet. And they’re available.

I always used 70gr Speer semi-spitzers. They were short enough to stabilize in an A-Bolt I had at the time and worked well on deer.
I like the 55 grain TSX for deer, the only other bullet I used for deer was the 63 grain Sierra SMP. The Sierra was the heaviest bullet I could get to shoot well in my 1:12 twist M70. The 63 SMP worked well, but all things equal give me the TSX/TTSX.

I use the 63 SMP Sierra and the 70 SMP Speer on deer, with no failures...
The TSX and TTSX are an upgrade that are really NOT needed, but it is certainly a nice upgrade and is just more of a good thing...
Don't ya love a question that has NO Wrong Answer!
I've been able to find them on GunBroker.
75gr hpbt has always been reliable for me
Used the 70 gr Speer, 63 gr SMP, and 55 gr Sierra and Hornady. 25 yds to 225 yds in my sampling. They all worked with neck and boiler room hits.
But not one exited, possibly cuz they were launched from a .22-250........
My 223/223ai's are still killing deer with the 62tsx and 75amax. Still have a few hundred 62tsx left and 5k 75amaxs. I'll probably try something new when those are gone.
