I got a new Remington 700 long range in 7 mm PRC. It won’t eject a fired or unfired cartridge. When you lift and pull the bolt back the case or cartridge falls out of the bolt 3/4’s out remaining in the rifle. I called customer service and they had me send it in. Got it back in a couple of weeks and same thing is happening. The ticket stated “adjusted”. I don’t want to go back and forth with Remington. Is there a simple solution? Is there better aftermarket parts? I have owned and own a lot of 700’s and this has never happened. What are your thoughts?
Does it do this both slow and fast cycling?
Just a question any chance the round loaded or empty is hitting the windage turret?
Mb
Could the spring loaded ejector button be intermittently sticking ? maybe not doing it when Rem had it? But I would use a punch or dowel & depress it multiple times to see. A dab of light lube might help.

OT, but did you have a chance to see how accurate the gun is? I've been eyeballing one myself.

Shoots the hornady hunter 175’s half inch easily. Other than the ejector issue it’s a great rifle.
Does the little ejector button move in and out?
Put some good oil on the ejector and work it in and out several times.
have you tried this with more than one brand of brass? I have read a few things suggesting there was some brass for the PRC case out there that had slightly different head sizes not enough to really make a difference but if you're bolt head is turned to a pretty tight tolerance it could hang it up.
Based on a sample of one, they're all bad......
I have a rifle that won’t eject Hornady or Federal brass in 6.5cm, case head is .466” but will throw Lapua across the room case head is .471”.

Must be something else. .005" is about the thickness of a black human hair. Can't see that affecting ejection.

Could be something else, I will say this is the 2nd rifle with the same issue. One was a Ruger American that would eject Hornady brass so I called Ruger and they sent a new extractor and it had the same issue. I added a .140” detent ball and it still wouldn’t work. It would fling Lapua brass though.

I just put a new 6cm barrel on an old Savage action I had and it won’t work with Hornady brass and will fling Lapua.

Both rifles would leave Hornady brass laying in the magwell.

My Tikka CTR would injure someone within 10 feet when it flings any brass ran though it. Lol
If one does another go around with Rem, include some or your brass with the shipment.
The rim thickness amd/or depth of the extractor groove could be out of spec on the Hornady brass.
Look at this video and see if it helps you any.

Thanks everyone. I will try cleaning the ejector and also if I can find some other ammo or brass I’ll try that. I hope eventually Lapua makes the brass.
Or dump the POS and have a proper gunsmith tune a properly functioning rifle system of your choice.

It looks to me that the bolt face is opened up to much and/or the claw adjacent to the extractor is not within spec. I’m going to call Remington after the holiday and see what they say.

ADG has brass for it, excellent quality brass too.
It looks like the bolt face has a small protrusion next to the ejector. Could this be hanging on the brass just enough to prevent complete ejection?

Thanks Dean, they are out of stock but I’ll keep trying.
