I actually like light handling marks on a rifle. I refinished a few stocks and left a few marks before re finishing. It gives character. Most of you guys don’t know that guitars have been available made to look old for quite some time.

I like light handling marks on a rifle too! Most of the rifles I like are way outside my budget in mint condition. But when I find one with some ordinary field wear, it's often "worth" half (or even less) what it would be mint. And rifles are meant to be used (but not abused).
I have the plain grade version of that I bought new in 1985. I put a Williams peep on it when I got it. So far have not found a hog that a 180gr. RN Sierra won't go through. it also worked fine on my first (and so far only) bear.
Ran into a big sounder of Sows and baby pigs this morning early, this old Sow decided she was going to eat me to protect her little pigs-- had my little .223 in my Jeep put a 55gr sp between her eyes as she came at me.DOOOM!!! on her. Rio7
