An acquaintance is wanting to sell his .243 to help finance .270s for him and his son. I have not seen this rifle, but am going off what he has told me. So, here goes. It is marked a Czech Mark X, or possibly a Czech Mauser Mark X. The barrel is 24 inches long and he heavier than a sporter-weight barrel, but not as heavy as a target barrel. Possibly it might be a varmit weight barrel. He said the stock is walnut and has a few handling marks. He said the metal blueing is very good. I have no idea what very good is, so I'd guestimate 95 percent. The rifle came with a 4x40mm Mark X scope mounted on it in very good condition. He said he has been using it for deer hunting for the past 30 years. He also said he has shot it maybe 200 times since he bought it. Thanks for any help. Tom Purdom
30 years of hunting and a few handling marks???

Sounds well worn and no way 95% could apply if he actually did use it. Somewhere under 350 would be my guess. Maybe well under that...

Hey, I'm going by what he told me. He said he has 200 rounds through it and I have not known him to lie. He's got several old cars and they are in wonderful condition because he takes care of them, so I cannot imagine he would not take care of a rifle. However, you never know. He said the scope does go with the rifle. So, the $350 is a solid number. I'll tell him. Thanks for the advice. Tom Purdom
