I have a couple of Classic Lefties and the safety seems rough and stiff on two of them and pretty smooth and quiet on another.

Is there an easy fix and is it a DYI type project? I have a good assortment of flat and round stones and abrasive rods. I will be tuning the triggers so could smooth the safety at the same time, but only if it is a relatively idiot proof operation.

What would D'Arcy do?
He'd say, send it to him.. I'd say, send it to me..

This is not a job for an amateur.. Do it wrong and you have a firearm that will fire when you let off the safety.. Then, it's a trip to the Arnold repair facility since strikers are a restricted part and even I can't get one..

If you have a good smith nearby, have him/her get it done right for you.. It'll run about $25-30, usually.

Thanks for the good advice. Thought it might be a polishing only job, but with the uncertain availability of parts a gunsmith is probably the best route. Combining a trigger job with this could throw the timing off and result in a slam fire or other unsafe condition.
