Any of you all done work with the 85 IB in any sort of 6? Kind of thinking I'd like to give them a go in my 6/06.

I am interested to hear too. My nephew has a 243 and I think this bullet may be the next bullet we try.

I love the 110g HIB in .25-06.

Not hearing much, may just be better to go with the 100 Horn Bt, it's got a bit higher BC anyway...Plus it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

we still have them for sale here in Missoula. If i get a 243 soon, im thinking of trying them out.

I haven't heard any reviews of any of the interbonds. Not sure how they compare to the other bondeds. I also wonder how the new gmx or whatever it is compares to the etip and tsx.

Dober..I tried them in my new .243 as I wanted a light bullet that held together better than I was getting out of Speers..Hot rodded them, and they shot great @100 yds...held up groups pretty gopod at 200 yds, and at 300 yds ( the farthest I shot them)...not so much.
My .243 is a half moa gun when I do my part..the Hornady IBs opened up to 1 moa or slightly more at range...
Buttttt..Ive got a few spares if you wanna try them!!!
I just said screw it and went with the 80 gr. TTSX...they REALLY shoot...

Yeah I wanna try them, may work well in my 6/06. The wife and I used the 90 Speer this last fall and I wasn't impressed with how they performed...

It made (yes I said made) me buy some 100g Flat based and 110g Interbonds in .257 for my .25-06.

Thanks there's another $75 buck on the visa.

I passed on them & loaded up on other stuff. Would be interested to know how they compare to an 85 Nos PT though.

Wife and I ran them the year before last, and I wasn't real impressed either. we bumped off a couple deer with them, but I found the jacket off of the one I shot, and It doesn't look anything like I would think it should.

Was that all of why you weren't impressed, or did the bullets not do an effective job of killing?

Honest question BTW. I'm not too concerned with how the bullet looks afterward as long as it wrecked the innards.

Not altogether. The doe I shot did a little more running and a little less bleeding than deer we had previously shot with the same rifle using 95 grain partitions. I have also taken a few other deer with a different .243 using plain old Remington 100 grain Corelokts. The all left good, short blood trails too.

The core from this particular bullet had seperated completely and may still be flying for all I know. The jacket stayed under the hide on the far side.

The strangest part is that the base of the jacket is peeled back about halfway, as well as the nose section.

I haven't seen that particular bullet used, but I have killed a few critters with the 7mm, 154 gr. weight. Wasn't impressed with them as a premium. They open fast and spread wide. Which means they kill well if you don't want much penetration.
I've seen lots of 95-100 gr. Nosler Partitions used in the .240 WM, as well as the .243. First class performance even on stuff much bigger and tougher than deer. In the larger calibers, the NP's do the same. Since I wasn't impressed with the 7mm Interbonds, I would be reluctant to use them in the smaller calibers. E

I picked up some Sierra 85 grain bullets on a recommendation they shot well. Haven't tried them yet. Have you tried them?

Yeah I have, I've never had really good accuracy with them though.

I still have a few old 85 Nozler semi's think I'll just finish out the year with them and then sort something out for 2011.
