This thing hadn't been shot in over 30 years. I got bored this evening and blasted the cobwebs out.
1950 M94 in 32 Special.
Popped off a few rounds at 69 yards and it made a couple nice 2" groups. It shoots damn near a foot high though and there's no more room for adjustment. I still might try and ambush a deer with it anyway.
Kinda fun gettin' out the old iron sights!
Very nice! I love your photo of the rifle! Thanks for posting it.
Cheers!

Great pics Sammer... really nice!
Thanks Bob, 338, Brad, the old threshing machine(in the background of both pics) is parked right where I was target shooting.
And speaking of old school, that old machine is OLD....(grin)
Get a taller front sight...
.
Very cool...and very effective, though not always recognized as such...

I'm thinkin' just aim lower....(grin)
And I know you guys have some neat old lever guns, let's see 'em!
Have one just like it, but was made in 1952, mint condition and probably hasn't even had a box of rounds through it. It's a high quality piece of work.
And I know you guys have some neat old lever guns, let's see 'em!
Im sure youve seen this one Sammo...1937 vintage Model 64...30-30

My 1940 model 94 shoots high too but I tuck the front sight just down right at the bottom of the rear and it works out really well.
That is a wonderful backdrop for your photo.

All of my older levers are Savage.

Shouldn't your Suko be pictured next to an old chit spreader?
Seriously, cool old shooting iron.
.32 Special, MFG 1958 (now wears a Lyman #66).
.30/30, MFG 1953, wears a Redfield peep (makes that too high POI, too low POI issue go away).
darn nice pic there Sam

Sweet old rifle Sammy..Top pic rules.Very nice
Nice looker,Sam..The 32 Special was indeed a special round.Sometimes overlooked from some because of the 30-30 as was the 35 Rem and 25-35.It was in our camp for years and years..The Williams homestead on the Salmon river way up from the nearest road used a 32 Special for all there hunting from Moose/Bear/Elk and everything else to feed the 5 kids.He swore it kilt better than a 30-30 to show caliber razzing goes way back...
I have a soft spot for the leveractions and have to many according to the the head of the house..The wife..

Likely one of the handsomest sporting firearms ever made.
Cool pics guys, those old rifles have some great character!
Pretty neat actions also, little more going on than a boring bolt gun.
Loco, you have just given me a great idea.......(grin)
'Cutter, sounds like that 32 had quite a history, bet it has a few 'battle' scars.
Keep the pics coming!

Don't worry, it'll be back on at 75 yards.
Got the idea to do an old school deer hunt a couple or three years ago. My friend showed up with a hand me down (believe it was his father-in-laws) Winchester. Just something about those old Winnies!

Nice rifle Sam. If you kill a deer with this fall with the .32 I'll be impressed, but if you harvest 40 acres of wheat with that threshing machine later this summer I'll be really impressed!
Here is a Spencer Burnside 56-50 that I inherited a couple years ago.
Cool rifle, and really nice pics, Sam. Thanks for sharing 'em.
You could call that picture "Farm Junk"
Cool stuff guys, here is a favorite lever of mine. It's an 1894 Short Rifle Takedown in 38-55. My pictures do not do this gun justice, it's 100% original and in real good shape. Jay
Jay, that is sweet!
Lots of nice old rifles, thanks for the pics and comments.
For some time I had...a 64 carbine in 32 would of liked to of kept it but it helped out in better ways than hunting so alls good.

My Grandfather has hunted deer here in Pa, with a 1949 model 94 in 32 special every year since the mid 1950's. He says its never let him down yet.

Nice thread, Sammo. Unfortunately, my two leverguns, a 99 and a 94, are 1000 miles away right now.
Jay, that's a nice looking rig. I've wanted a .38-55 for quite some time now.

My only old lever is a Savage.
1954 EG, Marbles Game Getter peep under, kahles 4x. If it doesn't rain every day during the season this year maybe I'll get to use it.
Sam, that is a cool Winchester!
Sam... Very nice rifle.
This 1894 .25-.35 belonged to my Great Grandad... It still hangs on the original door header and nails from his homestead cabin just as it did in 1910.
Nice looking rifle Sam. Just toss on a peep and go kill something...
