Ive wanted one of these since I was 10 yrs old. Finally quit waiting on a bargain and just bit the bullet and bought one. I think Larry Koller might give a nod of approval. Pics dont do it justice it is much nicer in person.[Linked Image]

Very nice, great to scratch the itch.
Nice!

I can relate, been wanting one in 250/3000 for a long time and managed to find 2 this year, one a takedown.

Takedown made 1917

Mines fifty model eg. Its been drilled for a scope but im gonna hunt it with opens. I think im really gonna like it.
Nice.
thanks
nice good buy
I bought my first '99 savage this year and Iam really pleased with it. Mine is a .300, but I am pumped nontheless.
I'm jealous, been wanting one myself for some time.
Kind looks like the one i just got a month and a half ago. Mine is not in as good of shape. Has hash marks and a forearm "grip" carved into the forearm and someone's brand engraved into the reciever. It was given to me so i cant complain and i love the character it has. hopefully i can get out and hunt it some this season.
I have had a 99EG in 250 Savage for 60 plus years now..I also have another one for sale, and its super accurate if anyone is interested..

I love the 250 Savage caliber and it was my second deer and elk gun, the 25-35 Win SRC being my first..The both killed elk and deer very neatly within their range bounderies of 200 yards and broadside shots. Always used Rem corelokt and WW Silvertip factory ammo back then. I preferred the 100 gr. Rem Corelokt for elk and deer.
Was shooting my 1953 M99R this afternoon, this one is factory drilled and tapped so I use the scope. Trying out Big Game with the 87 Speer TNT. Quit at just under 3100fps and nice groups. This one shoots the 87 Hot Core much better than the Hornady version, they're all different though.

Often we rook ourselves out of a great toy we could have already been playing with by waiting on a bargain.
Speaking of 250 Savages, which one of you gunheads won
the Winchester Model 54 on GB last week?

That is exactly what I have been doing for 10 years, next decent one I see at a reasonable price I buying.
Just got done shooting it. Some one has flipped the rear sight around for scope clearance I assume. So with the sight in the top notch it still shoots about a foot low. The first three shot group went into a two inch group. The next three where kinda a scattered as my target sets back in the timber a little ways and was getting covered with shadows. Had a hard time keeping a good sight picture. I think once I give it a good scrubbing and get the sight flipped around the correct way it is gonna shoot pretty good. Its been a long time since ive shot irons on anything but a pistol or muzzleloader. Its gonna be fun.
By the way if you want one of these you better grab them when you find them cause they are getting harder to find and the prices just keep going up.
Nice 7MM. Thanks for the pics. Looks a lot like mine. Mine will not shoot heavier bullets very well because of the twist. I have a Savage Model 14 bolt that is a tackdriver with 100 gr. bullets. That's probably next for you. This caliber is addictive!
I'd sure like to see Savage make the 99 again, I could sure go for a 99A in .250.
Jealous, here.
I had one for years--a takedown made in 1918. Sold it this past January for a fairly hefty price.
