I have a Browning B92 whose soft case is several inches too large. Rifle is about 38" so 39-40" would be ok. A proper fitting case has proved difficult to locate even at gun shows. Would like a pocket on the outside capable of handling a box of 44mag ammo. Right now if I put the ammo next to the butt all things fit fairly snug. Just think I prefer a proper fit. Looking for anything from dirt cheap to perhaps $100, maybe more if I really liked it. Ideas?
I have a couple from Red Ox. Great quality and company. A little spendy but at least made in usa.

They fit a short lever rifle? They look nice but did I miss something - these are listed as 48" and 50" from what I see.

I have one of these for one of my 336's- rifle fits in it like a glove, nicely padded, is Made in the USA, and has an outside pocket. Reputable seller- he got it to me in one day. Might be just what you're looking for, and the price is right. He has models for scoped rifles as well.

I like the tactical size cases that are sized to fit AR-15 carbines; they don't look traditional, but they fit lever action carbines quite well. I've used an Uncle Mike's for both my Browning 71, Winchester 94 and Marlin 336.
Well I was sold on a Boyt after finding the correct sized but the chepskate in me thinks that one is not bad at all. Thanks guys -been very helpful.
I've got a couple of Boyt's that I use and like them. I think the old saying you get what you pay for may be the case.
