Does anyone have any idea what the Talley LW rings actually weigh? I couldn't find a weight on their website.

I'm thinking about swapping out some Burris Signature rings and bases for some Talley's if I can save myself > 4 ozs or so. I haven't taken off the Burris rings yet, so don't know exactly what they weigh either.
2 ounces apiece IIRC.

My turn-in windage adjustable medium height Signature rings weigh 4.01 oz and the bases and all screws weighs another 2.32 oz for a total weight if 6.33 oz.

I recently traded my last loose set of Talley LW's but if the 2 oz each quoted by NYR is correct you'll only save ~2.5 oz.

I remember 2.5 ounces for the set, including all screws, in low.

There you go, you have your 4 oz.

Thanks guys. I'm going to do it and will post up actual weights once I get everything apart.

You'll like the Talleys.
Remember to torque the screws no tighter than recommended because unlike your Signature rings the Talley can leave nasty ring marks if you get too exuberant with the ring screws.

Rick was right. I just called Talley with another question and they confirmed that they run about 2-2.5 ozs per set depending on ring height.

Are you using a tourque wrench/driver to install? Is this recomended?

I'll be putting on two sets in the near future and want it done right.

It is not necessary but highly recommended. Get one those Wheeler brand inch/# torque wrenches. Comes with 8 fittings.
It will last forever plus you can use it for action screws too.
Keeps things consistent with one less potential issue to wonder about.

Agreed.

Cool. Thanks for the tip, I'll get the one of those ordered when I place my next Midway order.

Or you can just order a snapon TQ wrench that will do the same thing, but it will be twice as awsome because its snapon brand. Actually I have one in in-lbs from my job that works great.

2oz is the 1" LW 700 low average.

Hold the torque wrench and pass the bloody knuckles,as I've seen too many "torqued" things shoot loose.

Gimme tight and +P...............

Ok, BigWhoop set me up with a new set of Talley's for a great price.

They weigh in at 2.1 ozs. The old Burris Sig rings and Leupy bases came in at 5.5 ozs.

I saved myself 3.4 ozs and I like the looks of the Talley's much better.
