Anybody ever wish they had one over the other on an actual hunt?

I mean on paper, they are the same thing, but sometimes the barrel is marked WCF when it could be marked Win. Only want to hear from you if you've ever been bothered by this on An Actual HUNT! Did it ever cost you a deer?

Assuming you hit vitals.

Thanks in advance.
With all due respect, you must be drinking.
The .308 is much better........grin

Or is it the 270 JOC

Pass the jug.
I hate the end of hunting season.
Killed a mountain lion with my 270 wcf. Although it was a short enough distance that I'm not sure I would have been undergunned with the 270 win (about 25 feet).
Stuff has gone down the tube with the after season doldrums.
I think I'll have another beer.
I prefer the 277-06 myself.
I'm going to lay a cable.............
Never tried either, son has a 270WCF, seems to like it, at least if he does his job it puts meat in the freezer. Fine with me, I'm the reloader and it is not hard to reload for. LOL
Happy New Year
Ron
I wasn't exactly sure.

Appears to be a 270 Win.

Or a future fence post......
I had my gunsmith convert my 270WCF to a 270Win and it didn't cost me anything!!

Dude...all due respect, but that gun looks better from a distance...... whistle
Never seen an animal killed with the 270 Win that couldn't as easily been taken with the 270 WCF... just sayin.

Awww, come on. Looks like a LOT of guns I have ssen over the years that were too busy being used to worry about the looks. That's a gun that simply kills stuff and then leans in a corner on the back porch waiting to kill again.
I would only treat a Remington like that, bet resale is ruined......(grin)

Seriously though that rifle is an accurate sonuvabitch!

Yep JB said one of the most accurate factory rifles he ever owned was a Remmy in .270...adl...

I'll be it would even shoot good enough to pick the head off a grouse..I mean..if you lived in the mountains where that was legal...... whistle

Rode hard and put up wet...
Wow, and here I've been mixing ammo for the two all along. Guess I've just been lucky so far. Thanks for the heads up! wink
How would the .277 Whelen compare with the .270 WCF and the .270 Win? I am thinking of having one built if I can find a custom chambering reamer.
I prefer the old classic 270 WCF to the newcomer 270 Win.

They don't make them like they used to, and they never did.

Now I'm confused, Is the 270 adl, more like the 270 Win, or the 270 WCF?

Agreed, but I do prefer the 270 Win over the 270 Lose.
Aha! Sam O's secret hunting spots revealed. About the area of Ohio.
Did the 270WCF replace the 270WRF?
I'm still betting on the 270 express, and next hunting season.

When are they coming out with the not so short, medium, almost magnum 270?
Has anyone ever built a .277-.280 Rem??? Perhaps that would combine the best with the best.
that aint gonna work cause the 280s GAY.
I wonder how it compares to my 6.8x64?
277 Whelen, 277/280, 6.8x64, 270 Express....now that's good stuff. Why didn't I think of that???
Only problem I've had was when I shot Remington factory CLs in my WCF. They just penciled through a whitetail buck.

He died, but it offended my sanguine sensibilities and since switched to Federals in 6.8-'06 when I don't load my own .277 O'Connors.

Now you're talking apples (yellow or red non-tropical fruit) and mangoes/mangos (yellow-red tropical fruit). The ADL, BDL and now the CDL are a completely different genus (not to be confused with genius...nor am I...) from the WCF and the WIN.
