Swampdonkey speaks again. LOL, A McMillan edge is gonna weigh half what a wood stock will and be much, much stronger with the weather having zero effect on it.
How many 21-23 ounce weather proof, wood stocks you got laying around swampy?
I'm still young enough to carry a hunting rifle of caliber and weight suitable for men. Those who shoot women and kids calibers or are too old to carry a 8.5# scoped rifle may like plastic. I have no use for it.
Not sure why he would have to cut me anymore slack than the 20-30 folks here that act much worse, but I ordered through the link on the Outfitter's Gear Shop. I didn't get the Edge, I went with the less expensive version.
Didn't know McMillan offered pillars. When I ordered my one and only McMillan I seem to remember them making fun of the competition that used pillars, something to the effect that they had to make up for an inferior product somehow.
Just a couple of his quotes about synthetic stocks. He's going for a reaction:

By talking nacho induced deuce arent you giving him the reaction he would be looking for if he was just looking for a reaction? By treating him as just another guy that has reached that stage in life where carrying a lighter rifle, one that kicks a little less, makes sense isnt it possible that he may turn out to be such a guy?

He never did say what rifle/caliber, or the purpose intended. He didnt go for the edge, talked about saving money. So, either he is setting up a range queen or still not to concerned about weight on a hunting rifle. (Games afoot Watson).

He has badmouthed McmIllans consistenly and as late as last week. He is cruising for a reaction.

Or is he cruising for a little human kindness? Ive been reading some of his stuff, and it seems like he wants to join in, like the little kid on the playground that never got picked for a team.
So, he must be building a range rifle cause hunting aint a team sport.
My bad, a hunting rifle it is. Why swap out the wood for a McMillan? What, if everyone here has said is true, got you to not only try a McMillan but put it on one of only three rifles you intend on keeping?
And might I add that I couldn't be any more happy that Wal-Mart is now making and selling the smaller flour tortillas. They're about 6" in diameter.....and good. If I need to recap and go over everything again...just let me know.
And I'm going to need an oil change soon.....about 1,000 more miles. And we all know how much I dread that with a diesel. Might as well bend over, grab my ankles, and walk in backwards.
I'm thinking about a auxillary diesel tank with the combo toolbox for the bed. 'Twould be nice when hauling the 5th wheel. But I've done without it for 2 years now.....so probably just a waste of money.
Has it been determine what gender Rancho_Loco might be?
I'm getting a beer. And a 10" flour tortilla from Wal-Mart (Everyone knows bigger is better)...
This should be good.
My suggestion would be a half-dozen of the 6-inchers....and a pack of hot links.....maybe a 12-pack of Shiner. I'm thinkin' you could get out for about $22 or $23.
you gotta have a tool box to carry all that crap you don't need.
Last pickup I had, when I traded it in, I found a box of 20-gauge shells in the toolbox. Couldn't even read the box any more because of all the rubbing and vibration, etc. But they did shoot. Not 1 misfire.

Good thing they didn't leave a box of rubbers in there too...
My Bermuda grass on my front lawn isn't growing because my trees are getting way too big......too much shade. I'm thinkin' about maybe Kentucky Bluegrass?? Not sure it will do good here.
Swamp, Googled big game in Kentucky and it doesnt appear that they have any bears. Are you looking to move to Kentucky or just hunt deer over there? Where will the bear hunting take place?
Used one of those batter-powered fans attached to a water bottle Saturday for the first time in my life.....and I've been around for awhile. Went to the lake and it was 105. Thing sure came in handy. Could have stuck my head in the ice chest it was so freakin' hot.

You can say that again......That's the last thing I need!
ETA: And when I say "That's the last thing I need", I mean what may come as a result of using a holy rubber.
Just tried to change my online id, but it will need to be approved by admin. Or well. On a different note, if you guys have the power to run someone off, got any pull to get BS back?
Is it illegal now to use Diesel to kill ground? I know my Dad used to use it on the farm....but that was 30 years ago. I'm guessin' it's frowned on now big time.
Need something to kill the ground in my alley and Diesel is just handy.
Reason I ask is because I got one of those notices from the city that the weeds in my alley were in violation of code. Problem is that code in Lubbock is no weeds over 8" tall. If we ever get any rain, weeds will grow 8" in a freakin' week.
The EPA gets pizzed about it... dumped 200 gallons on a job site once..... the man told me a spill of 5 or more gallons was a "threat to the ecosystem" and it " should be swiftly reported"...f

I don't think I'd spray much more than 1/2 gallon if that. But I guess I'll just buy some chemical made for the job.
I've had two azzhole neighbors that'd call smokey the bear on me if they found his number. I've had animal control, sheriffs dept, building code man and my land lord called before..
Better to use the approved shizz so a "green" neighbor doesn't call captain planet on you....
I know my neighbor across the alley called the city on me. She's a biaaatch! I had to mow over the alley about 20 times....and all of the dirt was blowing right into her backyard. And she was out on her back porch working on her flowers and schitt. I'll have to admit that I was laughing inside.
After I was done, I was in the backyard and I saw her going to the dumpster. She was walking back to her gate and I guess heard that I was in the backyard and said "Looks nice back here". I just said "thanks". Then she said "Sure is hot today, isn't it?". I just said "yep".

You dumb ass. He said "up to brown bears." Which is bullsh** anyway.
You shouldn't need google to tell you there ain't no brown bears anywhere near Kentucky. Unless you're sittin' on the front porch, strummin' a banjo.
Maybe try a Yahoo!! search. I've heard they have better data on hunting.
Whew. Dropped a huge cruller. Things really just all started running together....if you know what I mean. Must have been the combination of the guac mixed with the japs.

Any bears you dumb ass. Arizonas got little black ones, having never been to Kentucky, or even thought much about the place, I didnt know one way or the other as to whether they might have some. Except for you know everything do nothing waste of an otherwise perfectly fine human pelt googling to learn about something never harmed anyone. Hell, even one of your little buddies admitting to actually reading a book about hunting.

Not planning on hunting bears. I said "up to" Brown Bears.

Hope you draw your Georgia sheep tag this year, you've been trying for what, 10 years now?
Swampy likes to post about buying stuff, ask him for a photo and get a clue.

Sorry, no interest in anything Georgian. Must be the wrong guy. But Ill tell you what, let me know the screen name and Ill adopt it just for shiiets and giggles.
Swampy, Dont see the need myself, but would you post up a picture of a tomatoes, and maybe a pic of you eating one, just so these guys will shut up about you lying about everything?
Seen many people here at the Campfire state that they wished McMillan would offer that stock. It's one of the reasons the KS Mountain Rifle was so popular here as well.
From the ingwe chronicles:.... "So there I was, following swampy through the dense palmettos, when he stopped suddenly. Too suddenly......
Next installment: "We were surrounded on all sides by 8 year-old rutting spike bucks. They were getting randy, eyeing swampy and I in our loin cloths, snorting, and pawing the dirt. I was just about to retreat, but realized we'd left the golf cart over 100 yards away, so there was no time. The only way out was straight ahead, straight up the pike.
So to speak.
So I centered the donut in my sights, and forged ahead, bravely, where (I found out later) unlike the TV show, many men had gone before......(to be continued)

So I was just thinking I'd kill the ground.
Wait...
You actually live somewhere that they city has a code against weeds growing, and is wasting it's time (and your money) sending you citations about a f'kin' weed in a ALLEY?
Yep. The city just changed the ordinance from 18" to 8" so they can rip us off. I see a need for the first but the second is just to have another good source of revenue. On the day the notice showed up on my door, i counted quite a few (well over 10) just on our block.

Ground Clear Triox. It will remain sterile for a year or two. Can get it at WM among other places.
Finally tracked down the smell in my house to the sack of potatoes in the pantry. How is it that a new 5-lb bag of potatoes can smell so bad? Didn't spot a single rotten one in the bunch.
I believe that was taken during my Bud Light years. Strictly Shiner Bock now and it typically does not give me the runs like Bud did (excepting last night and this morning, of course. I consider that an anomoly although an unpleasant one for sure).
Today I decided that unless you are building a custom or putting it on an emotional favorite a McMillan is not worth it. Practiced retrieving in the pool with my lab pup.
No....I said NEUTRAL Berber. Not natural Berber. And I'd hate for everybody to be saying something about the carpet not matching the drapes....if you know what I mean.

Try hardwoods - they mate up well with neutral, brown, black AND red carpet...

Texas Tech Red Raider carpet....Now you're talkin'!
But the hardwood comment was completely uncalled for. My rear hole is "exit only" if you know what I mean.
Speakin' of dogs. My GSP has had the walkin' schitts for 2 or 3 years now and has on-and-off mange. True story that. But that bastid sure could hunt quail back in the day.
Owning dogs is unfair to those who live around you. If you live 3 miles from the nearest person then you should be able to own one. Any dog found off the owners property should be fair game and it is in most of the south. They $hit everywhere and make noise constantly. Cats just $hit everywhere and scratch up your cars & trucks.
I played the trumpet in high school band. That was when band was cool and Loveboat ruled. I also played HS football. Needless to say....halftime was a bitch.
A local company does Cerakote so I may let them do the metal while I'm waiting on the stock. I need to order a couple of sets of Talleys. A Timney trigger should top it off.
