I am looking for a good Rem 700 LA detachable Magazine for a 7mm STW. I know you can get and use the factory model. Is there any custom ones that are made for hunting and are flush fit?

thanks
First question in return is "does the gun currently have the Remington factory DBM?" My guess is not, but if it does, you're stuck with Remmy magazines. With the 700 DBM the feed rails are part of the mag and a 700 DBM cannot be converted back to an ADL or BDL magazzine configuration.

If the action is not a DBM model, then you may be better off. Kwik Klp made a conversion for the LA BDL - .270, 30-06, &mm Rem Mag, and 300 Win Mag. Those rounds are tight in the Kwik Klip mags and would likely not take the longer 7 STW.
Not sure on the flush thing, but there are a few setups that are for the Lapua if the 300 WM setup doesn't work.

A good one is Badger Ordinance M5, but it sticks out the bottom a ways.

I find them awkward to load ... but they work ok.

a good detachable mag for a 700= expensive
I have a Remington 700 Mountain rifle in 25-06. I purchased a used DBM stock and bottom metal/clip. It works fine. It is currently upgraded to a DBM McMillan Classic Edge stock. Still works fine.

HS Precision probably make the best hunting style DBM kits for the 700.
I have also been thinking about one of the HS Precision kits for the 700 Remington. I want one for a short action 22-250. I am just not sure if I can justify $290+shipping for the set up. That is awfully expensive IMO. Anyone know of a good place to buy for a better price?? Thanks, Tom.
i am also looking into the same thing for 6.5x284 in a long action, cant seem to find anyone with first hand experience withthe hs setup....
I swapped the factory 700 DM on a 7mm Rem. Mag for a HS Precision and am very pleased with it. Besides dropping it into a McMillan, the HS mag system is a cleaner look and appears to lock better than the factory product.

The factory product never gave me an issue but I jsut did not trust it and wanted a better fitting DM ssytem. Karl did the switch for me and it looks great.
CDI has been getting some good reviews and is a bit cheaper than HS...FWIW.
