I traded yesterday for a ASNIB FN made Winchester Model 70 Coyote Light in .22-250. I am hoping it will drive tacks. Anyone else tried out one of these new Coyote Lights?
Nope, but with fn's track record, Id venture to guess it will shoot just fine. It's got a lot of cool features. Let us know how it shoots.
My brother had 2 of them, neither would shoot. The barrel crowns were the culprit which appeared to be cut with a RCBS chaffering tool.

I got a FN coyote outback 22-250(shot show special)its basically a coyote light with a laminated stock (it now wears a mcm supergrade stock). The gun shoot real good 3/4 moa with a least 2 factory ammo and it shoot several other load sub-moa.
I'm kinda interested in the Coyote Light, but I would have to replace the stock... those 'cooling vent' really bug me. xwe, how do you like the feel/balance in the Mickey Supergrade? I have a Sporter-weight rifle in that stock, and it seems pretty OK. Wondering about the heavier barrel.

Not a Coyote, but my EW 300WSM would not shoot when I bought it - bad horizontal stringing. Tried several things, but eventually found the crown (where the "break" is on the bore) was way off center (L-R). Winchester paid shipping both ways and fixed it. It shoots great now.
I like the supergrade stock, the balance is good with the med-heavy barrel and it come to the shouler nice. The only thing I would change is the forend, its a bit to flat and square.
Buddy has the pre FN version in 325 WSM. Will shoot half inch groups with 220 Swift AFrames. Heck of a gun
I just purchased the Coyote Light in .308 with a Redfield scope. The first thing I noticed when I first looked at it was that it was overweighted toward the muzzle. This makes it harder to hold on target at longer distances, but that's why it has a spot for a bipod, I guess. The stainless barrel doesn't give it great balance, but that was my trade off for easier maintenance. The first weekend I took it to the range, I was amazed at how it shot. It took me 9 rounds to zero it in at 100 yards, but after that I was puting 3/4" groups with ease.

Between the forward weighted barrel and the recoil pad, I had nearly 0 recoil. This is a beautifully shooting rifle. I'm actually planning on taking it deer hunting in the sierra's east of Fresno in a few weeks.
Unfortunately my .22-250 Coyote Light didn't shoot worth a crap!
Its my second attempt with a FN model 70 in .22-250 thats failed. Then first was a Featherweight. It's ironic because my Extreme Weather Model 70 in .30-06 shoots great. Go figure.
I bought a Win Coyote (Laminated) when they first come out. .22-250

I did just about everything to get this thing to shoot and it just would not do it.
Thinking back, I probably should have checked the twist on it but didn't. Sure it was supposed to be 14 but not sure.

Long story short, I had to rebarrel. I know this was an issue at the time.

Today is a different story. I have ran a couple of the latest production (FN) and they flat shoot out of the box.

Our test load is 38gr H380, 40gr V Max, & Win Brass.
