Did you find a good load for that bullet....been thinking of trying it????
Posted By: rockchucker Re: caught a TTSX - 01/29/12
79.7 grains. got it to shoot 1.25" at 200 yards good enough.

Here's what the same bullet looks like after going through a mule deer at 50 yards. Recovered against the hide on the off side.

I have a fairly good pile of bullets in my bullet box that look just like that one. Most relaible game bullet going, IMO.

Time to take that rifle hunting now, eh?

Who'd a thunk it possible?

A bullet that, based on my experience in multiple rifles as well as the experience of others:

A) Is affordable,

B) Is accurate,

C) Seems to expand reliably,

D) Holds together for deep penetration, and

E) Provides a very high percentage of straight down results?

By "accurate", I mean capable of hitting clay pigeons at 600 yards, something I've done with multiple rifles/cartridges and TTSX/MRX bullet weights. I say "seems to expand reliably" because I've never recovered one. By "deep penetration" I mean exits every time I've used or seen one used, including front to back on a mule deer I shot with an MRX. By "very high percentage of straight down results" I mean ~75% (every mule deer and all but two antelope, neither of which went far).

That one looks just like the two regular 30 calibre 168 gr TSX bullets I've recovered over the years from a Moose and a Zebra.

Excellent bullets.
