I cant close the bolt of my Rem 721 any more. The handle tuns down 45 degrees, then it stops. I tried to remove dirt from the chamber, but it didnt help. Any special faults with this model?
Was a change made recently, new stock, screws or scope mounts?
Check the front take-down screw, and the rear screw of the front scope base. IIRC either can block the bolt if too long...
Indeed. I just installed a Leupold quick-release mount. And just after the mounting the bolt blocked. - Thank you
You're not alone on this, friend of mine did the same thing
when he mounted a new scope on a Savage M110.
When I dismounted the bases I saw, that I used either a long and a short screw for the front base and the back base. I changed the screws and the bolt works ok.
