I know a few of you were looking at getting this gun so thought I would post some pics. This is a Model 54 Jackson Excalibur, Olive/Black in 6.5 Creedmoor, 24" barrel .6 at the muzzle. Weight is about 6.75 without the scope. 8 lbs total.

Leupold 4.5-14X40 LR with MOA turret.

Talley Lightweight in Low

Ammo: Hornady 140 gr AMAX.

the target was shot at 200 yards. All shots not including the fouler was 1.6" elevation and .9 windage.

Shots 4,5,6,7 are under 1 inch elevation and under 1/2 inch windage.
I am very pleased for factory ammo and amateur trigger man.

Great set up, should be a great shooter. One of my favorite scopes too. Keep us posted on your load work up. Interesting caliber.

I notice the shell holder. Is the high comb comfortable>

The thin barrel was a surprise to me also, thought it would be same size as my 25-06 which is .65 at the muzzle. I suppose they were going for more of a mountain rifle, the bolt handle is quite a bit slimmer also. Either way I am happy with it so far.

I like the high comb, I use the shell holder to keep my drop data cards and probably a couple rounds.

That Creedmoor will become your favorite.They are accurate and easy to shoot with.Mine is a Hawkeye,H4350 and Varget seem to be the powders for bullets of 120 to 140.I can't wait to put one in a deer this year and hopefully some 'yotes.

Nice rifle - nice groups. I really like the stock color.

I you are shooting groups that good off of the bag set-up in the pictures wait until you shoot it from a good solid rest.

Hint - remove the ammo holder when shooting from the bags, the ammo holder will cause flyers from dragging on the rear bag.

yeah, that is how I shoot it, not the most solid of rests. I usually just shoot off my backpack.

The guys at the range always telling me to get a nice benchrest to shoot from.

I figure this way I still have an excuse

That is some good shooting off of those bags. Try a good front rest and good solid rear bag and you will be surprised at how much easier it is to shoot good groups.

How is the action - does she cycle smoothly?

Very smooth action and no scratches on brass or bullets. They are expensive but perfect right out of the box, bedding, great trigger, accurate, I can't ask for more.

i've had a cooper 54 classic in 260 a couple years now.
ditto--love it in all respects except the 2-position safety.
i realize the rifle is not the definitive variable in this, but 140 and 160 class bucks that collapsed on the spot in response to it have certainly further endeared it to me, and the fine trigger and mild recoil did contribute.

Got out this morning dialed up 5.25 MOA from 200 which should have been good at 400 three shots averaged 4 inches high so dialed back 1 MOA for a total up of 4.25 MOA shot a new target. Pretty happy with this off of my sand bags.
2.25" widest spread. Factory ammo.

Got a new VX-3 3.5-10X40 to replace the LR that was on there. Two shots to sight in at 100 then this 3 shot group at 200. Dialed up 5 MOA and hit a 5" x 5" steel plate hanging at 400 yards. I think it likes the 140 gr AMAX.
