Gentlemen,
I have a 7mm08 rem Rem 700 mountain laminate SS that I have been thinking of changing it to a synthetic stock after seeing pictures here.

The rifle hase a drop floor plate that I would carry over. Thinking about adding a soft limbsaver type pad too.

Please shoot me stock options, model names, vendors, vendor contacts, rough costs, and pictures are always appreciated!
Now show me those stocks! Point me at what "take off" stocks might work too. I think "TI" stocks are good ones to use.

The "Ti" stocks are available at StockysStocks and are the Bell and Carlson 2950/2951 series. Should save you about 12-14oz over the laminate.

Not workum very good with the old ti as it has a blind mag which means no floor plate. But, you can get the box and spring and turn it into a faux/ti with the old model ti stock and end up with a 5 and 1/2 lb rifle. The box is different for the blind mag as it is shorter. Think I paid $10 when I did mine.

How about a Mcmillan Mountain Rifle Stock with edge fill? They are a little pricey, but worth it IMO. You can purchase them through the 24hourcampfire gear store.

What's a guess on "A Little Pricey"? $$$

The laminated on my 7-08 has been very stable, and doesn't seem to shift POI from year to year, but featherweight it's not.

Two things... I remember seeing a green stock once that I really liked and I suspects its one of the bell & carlson stocks.

My fear of ordering a synthetic stock is getting one that sounds like a hollow core door when you knock on it.

I've posted this one before - Gander Mtn Guide .243 sitting in 1st Gen Ti stock, turned into the infamous faux Ti:)

This is B&C's factory green paint on a 2950 series stock that I once had on a 260 LSS Mtn Rifle. The grip was not my favorite, but it was a good looking and reasonably light stock. Doing it over, I'd save my pennies (more like $20's and $50's, LOL), and go with an Edge fill Mountain Rifle pattern from McMillan.

I'll second this. The stocks are expensive without a doubt. However, I find that once I had it on the rifle and in use I didn't think about the money.
