I just got a Weatherby Lazerguard in 300 Wby Mag for elk. It is just a Weatherby Vanguard with AAA grade wood and the lazer engraving like the lazermark has, that Weatherby makes for Cabelas. Pretty nice looking rifle. Topped it with a Leupold VX-2.

The Lasermark is hot dude. That is a lovely rifle; great addition!

Looks good, what bullet do you plan to use?

.300 Wby. Vanguard, 180 gr. NPT in factory load did this one in. Would probably work again.

Big Vanguard fan here. Been drooling over Cabela's Lazerguards for awhile. Have several Vanguards including a Deluxe that all shoot well and some V2s. For around four bills or less used they are the best deal running.

Back to the original point- I really want a Lazerguard as opposed to the Mark V Deluxe for about 1/2 the price and the same strength/accuracy as far as I can tell.

I recently bought a Vanguard Deluxe 7mmRM off a member here and it wound up in a friend's hands. He loves it and cherishes it and is afraid to hunt with it despite the price of a 20-year old rifle being less than that of today's new rifle prices.

Not to steal from the OP,but where was this elk killed? That elk has the most beautiful horn color I've ever seen!

My Vanguard .300 Weatherby likes 168 gr TSX bullets, and it REALLY likes 168 gr TTSX bullets.

WOW! Until three minutes ago I had no idea that Weatherby even MADE a Lazer stocked Vanguard! I like it, and a LOT! Now, if they would do that one up in 257WBY and put the 26 inch barrel on it instead of the 24, I really, truly might buy one.

Pulasky don't know [bleep] about stuff. 34F was all the colder it got. A little bit of frost on the pickup window this morning but shouldn't have hurt anything. Our crops might be safe now anyway. Kinda right on the edge.



They do do it in the 257WBY but only a 24 inch barrel. They only make these guns for Cabelas. They are 850 bucks. Here is the link
