Anyone shooting a .308 Norma Magnum? How do you like it?
Yep, love it. Mine is a Parker-Hale Mauser that shoots like a dream and looks just as good after I threw the gaudy assed factory stock in the trash and replaced it with a decent piece of Fajen walnut.
I was looking at a 1917 enfield sporterized and rebarreled to a .308 nm. I used to own a 1917 and thought this would actually be a great combo.
I have a M'17 rechambered to 308NM,second best shooting rifle I own. It's a better fit in the standard 30-06 box then the 1/8" longer Win Mag.
The .30-'06 to .308 Norma Mag conversion was very popular until the .300 Win Mag appeared in the market, as I recall some mail order ads were quoting $25 to do the rechamber and bolt face. Of course that was a few years back. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I used to shoot a .30-.338 Keele at 1,000 yards, and it shot well.

Most of the cartridges on the 2.5" short magnum brass (well it was short compared to the full-length H&H brass) shot well. The 7 mm RM is the only one that was knocked for "pressure spikes".

I had a 30-338 (I think it's the same as a Norma Mag) I was very happy with it but sold it because it really was not any big advantage over my 300 Win. Mag.
I have a 30/338 in the safe. Pretty good rifle but now more of a loner than anythng else. Just have too many that I like better.
