I have been searching for any info on this Remington 700 LR, comes with heavy 26" barrel, M40 Bell Carlson stock. Its been compared to the Sendero for accuracy. My 2 local FFL dealers can't get them but quoted prices $925-$1110. I see that Buds has them offered at $688. I called Remington yesterday and the guy said that they were release in mid 2013. Has anyone bought one that can offer first hand knowledge on this rifle?
They remind me alot of my 700 PSS or the early matte Senderos. I can't imagine a heavy barrel 700 in a decent stock with a float and a skim not shooting well. I've never run into one that didn't.
YOur FFL's are smoking dope. Local funstore had three last weekend (06, 7mm RM, 300 WM), all priced at $699. There is a thread on this in the Long Range Hunting forum.

Kaiser Norton
Thanks Kaiser, I figured the same.
My shop has one waiting for me in .30-06 for $660. Out the door. I don't get home until the 18th but will be posting pictures and performance when I pick it up.

Welcome to the 'fire! Give us a report when you start shooting.
Welcome. And be sure to add pictures.
Sure wish it came in a 6.5-284...
I wonder how close it comes in comparing to the Sendero? I think I read somewhere that was it Remington that said that?
Wish they made one in 243 with a 8-twist...

the stock and barrel are heavier on the long range. the stock fits me better. the both shoot real good.
Sportsman's Warehouse had these on sale for $700-750 over the past year. These are stainless, and not the black/blue versions.

I had one in 7RM, but sold it before shooting it. Hated the stock, but figured it would get $200 in the classifieds.
A guy at work has a 25 06. He wants 350.00 for it. I will probably buy it. Don't really need it, but good price. Less than a box of shell shot in it.
