Any and all help would be appreciated. This weekend I acquired Granddad's 1931 Remington Model 24 .22 Short rifle, the one Grandma used to use to head shoot chickens and one my brothers and I grew up shooting.

When I got it home I realized the rear sight elevating screw was missing. It has probably been gone for decades. I checked gunpartscorp.com and other sites and have not been able to locate one.

The Remington part number is 72480, Rear sight elevating Screw.

Again, any assistance in locating one would be much appreciated.

Thanks to those that responded. I called most of the companies listed on the Remington web site, including those mentioned above, to no avail.

It turns out the needed screw is a 8-32 but of shorter length than I could find locally. A little time and judicious grinding gave me what I needed. Not an original part but close enough.
