I'm looking at buying a 280 AI and I'm torn between the two rifles above. I like the "feel" of the Nosler, stainless barrel, cerakote and accuracy guarentee. I'm not a big fan of the 7 1/2 lbs. weight. For the Kimber I love the weight, stainless, 3 position safety and claw extractor. It's been awhile since I handled one. I was concerned about accuracy issues but a lot of people have been saying that this has gotten better.

So for you guys that have one of these rifles I would appreciate hearing what you like and don't like about your rifle. Thanks.

Nosler all the way. Their custom Pac-nor barrels shoot and you won't have to do the ridiculous kimber accuracy tricks.

Out of 5 Kimber that my friends and I had only one 270 wsm wood stocked shot great. All others were 2moa guns. I never bothered with the accuracy tricks though.

This. If you want something less finicky go with the Nosler. If you want a light weight rifle and don't mind the tweaking, get the Kimber.

Ive often thought about the Nosler rifles but I never see them. I would like to heft one and see how it feels. I had and have numerous Kimbers and only one so far doesn't shoot well. A 260 Montana with only 1 load tried so it hasn't really got a fair shake.

I would go w/ the Nosler too.

6 1/2 vs 8 1/2 lbs with scope. Pretty hard to compare.

I'd put my 280 Montana against most custom builds. Only thing that's been done is to lighten the trigger.

I have two other Kimbers and only one needed the standard tweeks. All three shoot well.

Some folks say they think the stocks are "clubby" feeling



but I don't have particularly large hands



and have not found that to be the case.

I had to work so hard to get my Kimbers to shoot, I pulled them out of the box. Mine are both 308 and will shoot better than my ability.

Like said, not really apples to apples and not only is the Kimber lighter but less expensive for a control round feed rifle.

I went with the Kimber Montana 280 AI recently. I never actually even considered any other brand than Kimber to be honest.

Those with the Nosler rifles, question on the stock. I believe I read it's a B&C, is it the same as the Alaskan or are the dimensions different and only made by B&C? Or am I completely off base and it's made by someone else?

I have been extremely impressed with the Nosler Patriot!
GWB and I have plans to put ours to the test in the weeks to come....look no further. The B&C stock is exceptional, and the rifle balances very nicely.

160g accubond from my Kimber 280 Ackley, nothing done out of the box other than setting the screws to 45 inch lbs. and lightening the trigger to a touch under 3 lbs.

Interesting information on the Nosler and kimber rifles.

First group out of my new Montana. Just over a half inch for five. I did the mag box fix and just made sure the front talley screw wasn't touching. I've shot a few more groups and all stayed around an inch for five shots. Gonna bed it next week.

Very impressed with my Patriot in 7-08.
