Have always liked the stock on these with the pattern they have. Like to see some pictures I tried searching for some but I guess I did it wrong. Also does the new ones come with the red pad?
Not the best photo but you get the idea. Chambered in 280 Remington and shoots right around 1" with 140 Bergers. Not bad considering the slim barrel.

Elk,

Spent any time burning primers with that new FW?
Nice wood on the 270 deernut
1deernut,yes about 40-45 rds. Right now the load is a 130 gr Swift A-Frame,60.0 grs of H-4831SC and Fed 210 Match primers. It is getting 3037 fps average and an inch +/- @ 100 yds. Tried the 130 & 150 gr Nosler Partitions, but, they have not shot as well as the SAF,close but not as good.

Taking it out tomorrow morning just to confirm the speed and accuracy of the SAF.
I think that swift 130 load will do anything needin doin. grin
Made in the early 1980's

About 10 years ago, in late January, I was looking for bargains in a pawnshop. Guy comes in with a 700 ADL, with walnut stock in 270. He needs $200 for rent money, Yesterday. The shop owner simply said he was gun poor and couldn't put any money in it at the moment. I looked at it, and gave the guy $200.

Got up the next morning and took it to a gun show where I found the Featherweight priced at $389. Traded the 700 and $50 boot for it.

Two years ago my daughter got married. My new SIL's only rifle was a beat up Savage. I gave him the Featherweight and a Colt 1911 as a wedding gift.
My 300 WSM FW. It doesn't get out much. It did go with me once this season however.

And yes, it's chambered in 270 blush
That is a nice one
Wonder how the wood is on a new featherweight seen where buds had some but they are just regular stock pictures for all
They are horribly plain, but thankfully there are lots of upgrades available over the past few years. Used to even be able to buy grade 3 sticks from CDNN for $130ish. Ive upgraded two that way. If I wanted one in a different caliber than originally available, I'd buy a nicely stocked limited edition and put it on whatever chambering I wanted in the new guns, like a .280, .264, 7-08, 308 etc.
You guys have some gorgeous wood on some of those. Mine is not nearly as pretty but it gets the job done. And yes, it's a 270.

I'd be happy to hunt that one as well as many others pictured. Some really nice looking rifles in a great configuration (especially 270s!).
Compact classic with 22" stainless Pac-nor, .250AI.
