I have found a Rigby rifle stashed away in a gunshop.

Its a pretty early Rigby in 7x57, serial #12xx.
St. James St, London

Small ring Oberndorf I belive.

Now, here is the kicker.. its restocked and open sights removed in the 80s probably. At Rigbys. And.... drilled and tapped, and comes with a old W-Germany S&B 4x36. FN left side safety installed.

Barrel is from original, around 1900s.

Have any of you bought or seen the Rigbys that where "saved" this way in the Roberts era?

Asking price is $2100

I've never seen one for myself. One thing to bear in mind is Europeans seem to not be bothered at all by professional restorations or modifications. They have a different mindset about such doings.

Grab it and post pictures of stuff killed with it.

What's the barrel length? Can you tell if it's been cut? It just looks short for an early Rigby.

Lose the scope and put sights back on.

RevMike: I belive they told me, but I have forgotten.

In the 80s, Rigby under Robertson "modernized" lots of their old rifles.. I guess its been cut, as it seems a bit short.
