Howa has has had their mini action in 204 Ruger and 223 out for a while now this year, they will also offer 7.62x39 and 6.5 Grendel. Only one of these chamberings has caught my interest.

They are also offering barreled actions; Only problem is no one seems to be offering a stock yet for this barreled action. Bet Boyds will be offering stocks B4 long.

Has this action and or any of the chamberings caught your interest yet?
I'll get with Mr. Bin and send a gun or three to McMillan this week. We'll need to cover all the barrel contours...
I would think a 6.5 Grendel would make a sweet truck gun.
I think that 223 and 7.62x39 will end up being more popular than the 204 or 6.5 Grendel, based on the easy available and less expensive ammo. Being a 6.5mm bore fan, I will probably buy a 6.5 Grendel just 'cause.

The RAR-Predator in 204 seems like a near perfect match of cartridge and platform to me.

A grendel with a A3 sporter stock is something I could get behind ....
owning a Ruger Am Predator and a Howa Mini Action, both in 223...I'll tell ya, no more Ruger Americans for this kid...

not unless Ruger scraps that crap magazine and comes out with something like the 10 rounder that came with my Howa...

that works... instead of being a jamamatic....
I could go for one in .223, but I've been invited to hunt some private land in VA next season and there it's .23 caliber or larger. Like Travis said in the other Mini thread, I'd like to see a blind mag option or a regular floorplate. Even a flush-fitting mag holding a couple of rounds would be okay
I think either in a McM model 7 stock would be great.

Yep, those hangy-downy mags look like crap.
Wonder if the 6.5 Grendel Mini would fit in the MDT LSS?
Yup. I can usually get my hand around a rifle's action, even with a scope, but those boxes get in the way. The CZ minis have the same problem, one reason I prefer the actions on the Zastava minis, even though the rest of the package needs a little refinement.

For those type of mag wells installed, those 10 round mags also have a 5 round mag that sits flush, available from Legacy Sports...

Just FYI....

The 10 rounder isn't handicapping me one bit tho....

But I also have a Howa SA in 223, with a regular flush floor plate and 5 round mag capacity...

but you boys probably don't like the Hogue Rubber stock they put on those.. which I love...

Guess Howa is better at pleasing Seafire than they are you boys... whistle
You're right about the rubber Hogue. Had one on a .308. Grabbed onto every piece of lint and forest duff, not to mention my wool coat. Nice cushy pad, though.
I'm just wanting Legacy Sports to get on importing the Howa Mini in stainless, it's out there and I've seen in fro sale on some New Zealand sites.
Not to ressurect an old thread but I''ve got 2 questions:

# is McMilllan inletting for these minis yet?

#2 anyone figure out if there is an outlet for hinged bottom metal instead of the magazine, or if there is a way to make it a blind mag?
