Have this LA 700 ADL format stock and trying to ID it. It is molded, not a layed-up construction. It's not plastic but I've not dug into it yet. In weight and appearance of the black material it's very much like an 80's RS I have, however, I do not recall the details exactly as this exhibits. My RS was BDL from the start. It's has a base of brown color and has been rattlecanned green. It had a thin Pachmayr pad and has Zero marks on it besides top and bottom form lines, no numbers or letters.

Anyone know forsure? Or have a good guess? Edit below with RS pics.

This is an RS ('86-87 IIRC). I am thinking its the same manufacture, identical extra hole by the front take down, same shape behind grip, similar grip cap but the RS has Rem logo. Maybe the same as an RS but sold direct from manufacturer, or an RS in ADL? Any ideas are appreciated.

What does barrel channel look like?
It looks like a Six Enterprises stock to me and Six sold them in both ADL and BDL format.

EDIT: There is a Six Enterprises stock for a Ruger 77 currently on eBay that looks like your stock.

Like my RS, I think, but it's been half-ass'd FL bedded covering some of the details...

Thanks 260RG! You're like a 700 encyclopedia!

Supposing Six E built the RS, I think that was established before...
This one's been on Ebay too, listed as a SA ADL takeoff, I jumped knowing different, hoping for fiberglass. LOL

Appreciate it! Now what to do with it... confused

Give it a Krylon upgrade, I like satin Almond with satin Forest Green NULA stripes.

Then, buy a 700 ADL SA in 223 or 243 to bed in it.
Remington 700 AS. Stands for Arlon stock made in the early 90's IIRC. One of the early attempts at a factory synthetic. Strong solid stocks, but very heavy.
Identifying and differentiating the 700 AS, "Arylon Stock" and 700 RS "Rynite Stock" has been and continues to be a challenge for me.
260, it's a long action, we'll see what turns up. Might go O'connor with it.

JR40,
Best I recall, I'd never heard of the 700 AS! They appear much like the RS. Likely the same maker. Appreciate the added information, errrr, confusion. wink
I have a couple of Six Enterprises stocks, a 700 ADL LA stock with a Remington 78 30-06 barreled action bedded in it and a 700 BDL SA Varmint parts gun in 243. While I'd never mistake them for a McMillan, I like the ergs and don't mind the lack of checkering or the weight. IMO, much better than the average injection molded stock.
