I am not complaining as this is the best shooting Kimber I have owned and I have tried a few....but as you see below a second group shifted from the first. Second was done 20 mins later and barrel felt like ambient temp. It was cool this AM.
Thinking maybe I should bed the lug solid or just forget it....

Your first shot was probably out of a clean barrel...if so they usually don't land with the others.

Otherwise your next five-if superimposed on one another, form a decent group in anybody's book.

No worries..

Hunt with a fouled bore.

Bore had probably 20 rounds before today.

What is cleaning? 😀

The "first shot of day effect" may not be the rifle.

More clarification....
First shot of the day with that rifle .....

But....you could still be right Mathman.

It'd be interesting to repeat the groups a couple more times then superimpose them. I bet once you got to 7 or 8 groups.... that circle would be pretty shot-up. Lots of 3/4" guns turn into 1.5" guns when a half dozen groups are laid on top of one another

If the rifle type changes a good bit from one to the next my first shot can be suspect at times.

For a 6lb all up gun I would take that...👍

Next Friday I will do it again and see....

Also, if you got up or moved much between the two groups I would expect a slight shift. How we get behind the gun has an impact, especially on light guns.

This, in bold, in capitals, in red letters, plus-P. smile

If you have warts on your technique, a Kimber will shine a bright light on them.
