The Marlin 45-70's are 299 and have a $50 mail in rebate. The mossberg mvp 556/223 is 299.

From what I've read a bunch of stores in WA have them for 199. Here in Colorado they weren't marked down, wouldn't ring up, but when he scanned the box itself it showed 199 as well. Nobody there had any idea they were on sale/clearance.

You have to get them to scan the box.

FWIW, the RAR's are $199, Marlin 17 HMR blued heavy barrels are $99. I also bought a Rossi Youth 22LR/.410 combo for $74.

Savage 17WSM sporter for $154, etc...

Same thing at my Wal-Mart. Tag wouldn't scan but box would. Got a 308 and 30-06 for $199 each.

checked a few Walmarts today, and all but one were sold out on their closeouts.
I was able to get a very nice looking Marlin bull-barrel 917VRX for 99 dollars. (17HMR)
Will give it a test tomorrow.
It came with Weaver mounts and two clips: a "4" and a "7".
So far, it's looking promising, but tomorrow's accuracy test will tell-all.

I tried jumping on this. No 45-70 for me. I guess there's not much I'd use it for that a 12ga slinging 1 oz slugs at 1600 fps won't do just as well or better...

Marlin 917 sold out in my area, paid over 200 last year for mine. Did get the Savage 93F 22 mag. but don't like it as good as the Marlin.

Just found out Savage has a 25 rebate on their rim fires.

No, that was part of last years blowout.

They are moving out their slow sellers to make room for new items in time for the hunting season and Christmas surge. They have already started bringing in the Henry lever guns.

I also noticed my local Walmart is now carrying the Weatherby Select rifles.
